MVP App – UX Design
THEIR CHALLENGE
Mavencery (MVP) is an iPhone and Android grocery price comparison app that aims to simplify the shopping experience for users in the US.
The challenge is to develop a user-friendly application that enables users to calculate the total cost of their grocery list based on their location, without the hassle of coupon clipping. Additionally, the app should allow for the easy sharing and editing of grocery lists within the same household.
Our Solution
At the outset of the project, Tamara, from Your Wish Digital, established two user personas that embody our intended audience for Mavencery, the grocery price comparison app. Our attention was drawn to individuals aged 20 to 45 who usually purchase groceries for their households and are well-versed in online shopping. In order to gain deeper insight into the requirements and challenges of these users, we generated user empathy maps for two different categories of grocery shoppers.
Persona: HR CONSULTANT | MOTHER | THE SAVER
Persona: P.A TEACHER | SINGLE | HEALTH CONSCIOUS
The Results
UX DESIGN + PROTOTYPE
We focused on keeping the application lightweight and reducing the need for users to navigate through multiple screens to simplify their experience. To make it easier for users to find groceries, we allowed them to search by broad product categories like “chips,” specific brand names like “Pringles,” or even by scanning the product barcode with their smartphone.
Our UX Designer, Tamara Stampone, simplified the user experience by offering an intuitive way for users to review their grocery list items and compare the total cart cost across multiple stores.
